2D Class Week 05 (One,Two, Three Perspective)

For this week we had to take a John Berky  piece, model it and find the perspective for it. 

This is the piece I chose






































Looking at the picture, it is 2 point perspective.







































Using Maya I made the model of the ship in perspective.







































Than I added the lines in Photoshop







































And added the colors.


3D Class Week 05 Modeling A Prop


For this week in 3D we were making a cannon proxy model using concept art.
First we established scale of the mannequin compered to one unreal unit box.
























Than I scaled the concept art to the mannequin.


Next step was to make the proxy model for the cannon. It all together was 900 tris.



Here is the wierframe with light.





Just to check it out I put it in unreal and gave it a pre-made material.





2D Class Week 04 Composition and Layout

For this weeks assignment we needed to recreate one of Drew Struzan's posters.

I chose this one. This composition looks like a mix of iconic and radial.








































I started by blocking the shape in.










































Shaded the body in.








































Than colored in the background and created the radial.



3D Week 004 Assignment (UE4 Lego Level)

For this week of Lego project we decided which section of the castle we are going to make and create any necessary Lego pieces that are in that set.

Here are the pieces that I made. There is an LOD for every one of them




















I tested them out in maya and contracted the whole castle































Than I contracted it again in Unreal Engine and made a blueprint.

2D Class Week 03 The Art of Frank Frezetta

For this class we had to pick one picture from Frank Frezetta and give it values.

Here is the picture I started with.







































I started with flat colors






































Finished with giving it values and smudging to create a gradient


3D Week 003 Assignment (UE4 Lego Level)

For this weeks project we had to collaborate with everyone in art track and make Lego lord of the rings.  This is the castle we decided to make as the Man-made environment team.
































For that I decided to first build this 2 individual Lego pieces in Maya.


















































I first started with low poly version




















Than I beveled everything and defined the edges, plus the underside.



2D Class Week 02 The Art of Brian Froud

For this week activity I made 9 silhouettes using Brian Froud's creatures as a base silhouette.
This is the creature that i used

3D Week 002 Assignment (UE4 Minecraft Level)

For this assignment we had to create a Minecraft looking level using only boxes and textures that we created, We started by making a 10x10x10 cube and beveled the sides.





















Than I decided to make tillable brick textures, attached them to the box in maya  and put them on top of each other to see how the seams looked.































I decided to make an abandoned metro station for my project. The creepy yet clean look of the metro really interested me.






















There were total of 6 different textures.















Than put them in unreal and made small variations. Also I generated a normal map for the brick texture to make slight indents in the ridges.  There was an emissive texture too, on top of the lights to emulate light bulbs.




It took a while but I finally made the whole building starting from the hallway and than expending to the actual station.
